Life Of Pi Starting off, the name of this film strung a familiar cord in my brain because I think my mother watched it when I was little. Me, as a child who was sort of forced to watch it before falling asleep, was like, "Why is his name Pi, and where did the tiger come from?" —not knowing a single thing about the movie at all. So it made me pretty happy to see it again now, older and with a better understanding of the plot, beyond just liking the tiger. Revisiting Life of Pi felt like watching it for the first time, but with new eyes. This time, I saw more than a boy and a tiger—I saw themes of survival, storytelling, and how people make sense of painful memories in beautiful ways. What really hit me about Life of Pi was how it wasn’t just about surviving a shipwreck with a tiger, but about Pi’s spiritual journey along the way.
